Things I'm thankful for this December

Just a short post, so you don't think I've forgotten about this blog.

This is not a post about people, although certain people are very much involved in this post.

In the area of my businesses, I am thankful for the world of social networking. Through sites like Facebook and Twitter, and Etsy Teams like EtsyTwitter, FEST, BeadHive, HAF, CFCC and HoardersUnite, I've gotten to meet (and "meet") some of the nicest people I would have probably never met otherwise. Some of us have become really good friends as well.

Through local groups like LocalShops1, I've interacted with even more people and become friends with them. Because I believe in the premise of the organization, I've even started working with LocalShops1 offering incredible advertising deals with this awesome network.

I've been in business for myself since 1973. Back then, I could never begin to imagine how much of the world has been opened to me beyond people I'd met through friends or at shows.

So, consider this my holiday gift to you, for your friendship, your advice, your goodies to tempt me with and your love. I think all of you are awesome!

Been too long!

Yes, it has been way too long since I've written a much too long blog! If you've read my blogs in the past, you know if nothing else, they are usually not short. Something I have to work on there.

I'm straying away from the more personal blogs I always posted and have at http://www.myspace.com/declijas and going to focus these blogs on art - especially the techniques I use for both creating and promoting my and others art.

I'll also be featuring artists that I've happened upon, friends who are artists and the occasional contest. And yes, there will inevitably be some personal things I'll blog about. I'm also open for suggestions!
